Halloween pinball ios game review - Ghoulie get your game on!

Take away the bells and whistles of any tables theme and ultimately the success of said table depends on how the table plays, and with Halloween pinball we have a table that offers an easy to play yet hard to master game of pinball with a clear bonus structure and challenges of accuracy that both excite and entice.

Halloween pinball is lovingly themed and is a very pretty table indeed!
If you can imagine a fairground ghost train then this game is that ride in pinball table form!
All the colours of halloween are here, presented with a bright neon glow. The graphics are a combination of moving 3D objects such as a witches cauldron and haunted house, with the flat surfaces of the table decorated beautifully ghoulishly with ghosts and pumpkins galore.

The main soundtrack is a devilish delight, mixing some occasional subtle drum and bass with eerie piano and haunting violins. In game phonics help to further set the tone, with a creepy male voice issuing warnings of impending danger and either praising or mocking your efforts. An old hag also chimes in with some witchy rhymes and gruesome details of her cauldrons contents!

To get some really high scores out of the table you need to complete one or all of the five main challenges that the table offers which are the “witches cauldron”, “walk of death”, “the spider web”, “haunted manor” and the “grave yard”. Access to the “spider web” challenge is only available once the “Grave yard” task is complete and the “walk of death” becomes accessible once the “haunted manor” mission is accomplished. Invariably each challenge means being accurate enough to repeatedly hit the ball into the appropriate target areas or to hit pop up targets as they appear. Ball mechanics are spot on and your success or failure will depend entirely on your own skill.

Camera options allow the player to view the game from a top down angle or for a more tilted
view where the camera also follows the movement of the ball. Both play great
but the tilted view offers a better view of the graphics.

Its true to say that there are a lot more complicated tables out there that may appeal more to the hardcore pinball aficionado but even members of those lofty ranks would have to be pretty cynical not to enjoy this atmospheric and ultimately a joy to play game. Halloween pinball is fast, furious and frightful fun that i heartily recommend to casual gamers, dedicated pinballers’, halloween homies and fright fans alike!
